call me before the sun has peaked
and before the cars escape from their driveways
call me when the sky is sea foam green
and the birds are singing in response to each other
call me before my tongue gets its first touch of coffee
and before I put on my jean jacket to leave
call me when my dry mouth thirsts for water
and when I’m all covered up in my bed sheets
call me in the morning
It’ll never be too early
