Beats being the bereaved—
killer of conversation,
inspiration for the look of concern.

I’m like Cassandra at the dinner party
or Typhoid Mary ready to share her disease.

Ending—beginning—remember and forget.
In the end is my beginning
and the beginning
knows no end.
