Tai Chi

by Susie Berg

I am circling the middle.
Internal art of boundless fist.

Stand on left leg. Bend the right,
not touching, to cross in front.

Right arm outstretched, unlocked.
My palm flat, facing in.

This is a seventy-thirty position to the north.
To some degree, I navigate toward you.

My left arm angles, chest-high.
Meet force with softness. Absorb.
