The stone again,
the stone’s softness
blooming again
on your finger. A foot’s
cool softness when
it missteps, then
the leader again,
the leader’s wrongness,
cool, abusive.
Students blooming,
learners giving up
the essence. Flesh
again, not much.
The knock of foot’s
finger on curves
of curb—the stone
again, and soft
as blooming flesh.
