This Goldfish and its Grasp of Model-Dependent Realism

by Nate Simpson

Even this goldfish
has quantum physics figured,
convex eyes magnify convex bowl
ocular angles amplifying, confirming
Feynman’s formulation,
but submersed and without the language to
  explain to me how
particles we don’t see balance on the tip of my nose and at the same time
rest atop Everest and at the same time explore Cygnus X-1, all at the same time,
now, in the future and
in the past,
and without the language
  to say it sees
what could have been,
and is, elsewhere,
in a different place,
at another time,
you and me.
